After a successful July program, staff got to take a few days break and get some much-needed rest and relaxation in order to recharge and get ready to welcome our August campers.

On Friday, August 2, our boarding campers arrived! Once again the weather was beautiful and arrival day went off without a hitch. All campers got acquainted over a fantastic evening campfire and lot’s of fun was had. The first Saturday is always a fun and relaxed day for the boarders, shopping with friends in Gstaad, a little swimming, fun games, free time, and a movie night. On Sunday both Saanen and Schönried camps headed for the Lauenensee for a barbecue lunch, a gentle walk around the lake, and some great afternoon activities.

The first Monday of a camp session is always an exciting day. Boarders looking forward to meeting the day students, and day students are excited about camp and all the new friends they are going to meet, activities they are going to do, and most importantly all the fun they are going to have! Day camper registration was smooth, Saanen campers escorted to their language classes, and Schönried campers were taken up to the Mountain Lodge.

What is the first regular day of camp all about?

Well; friends, language and swimming evaluations, routines, interest group orientation, morning and afternoon programs, camper-counsellor time, food, games, smiles, and most importantly, FUN!
